Meticulous Construction
 We use hardware and old world construction and finishing techniques that provide years of enjoyment and peace of mind. Every piece is individually produced by our craftspeople, who are masters at bringing out the best the wood has to offer. All joints utilize time-tested mortise and tenon construction, and are glued and screwed for added strength and longevity.

Top of the line dovetail drawers are standard, and European hinges and glides are used exclusively. Our casegoods are made with skirting on the front and sides, for stability and strength. A leg base option is available on most pieces. The visible edges of our table tops and casegoods showcase the natural curve of the log, called the wained edge. All of our tops are solid wood.

Custom Work
Custom work is welcome at Mountain Woods Furniture. The best way to start the process is to identify the piece that most closely fits your needs, then specify the modifications desired. We have created unique sizes and designs for dining room tables, hutches, entertainment centers and bedroom furniture.

Finishes and Fabrics
 We finish our furniture by two processes. All tops have three coats of a hand-brushed polyurethane for maximum protection of the wood, while the rest of the piece is hand-rubbed with a beeswax and linseed oil combination. Custom stains are an option, as is ordering unfinished furniture and applying your own stain or finish. Select from a wide range of fabrics for your chairs, benches, futons and glider rockers. We can also work with the customer’s own material (COM).
